Friday, April 3, 2015. Stefan Sagmeister visits AIGA Iowa. The world will never be the same.

Before his keynote address to 340 attendees from Iowa and surrounding states, Sagmeister dined at Django with two AIGA Iowa Board members and six lucky designers who were the first to sign up for the event the moment tickets went on sale. See this fun group >

After dinner, he traveled to the Drake University campus and a waiting crowd eager for his Happiness Talk. Sagmeister’s presentation revolved around the possibilities to achieve happiness as a person and as a designer; making sure work remains a calling without deteriorating into just a “job.” He also shared design pieces with the power to induce happiness and clips from his upcoming documentary feature The Happy Film. After the event, VIP ticket holders walked to nearby Mars Cafe for an after-party with Sagmeister in attendance. Drinks, nibbles, and bags of freebies from our sponsors were handed out while several designers had the chance to speak with Sagmeister one-on-one, pose for photos, and get his autograph.
