The fourth annual Design Assign program, a collaborative partnership that gives back to the community through design, is seeking applications from non-profit organizations March 7 through April 10, 2016.
Part of the national AIGA Design for Good initiative, AIGA Iowa’s Design Assign partners area creatives with local non-profit organizations. These graphic designers, writers, web developers, photographers, videographers, printers, and others provide Iowa non-profits with pro-bono communication products. Past projects have included logos, direct mail pieces, posters, brochures, websites and social media collateral.
“The After School Arts Program’s website, created through AIGA Design Assign, has given ASAP a serious tool for marketing and promoting our program at no cost to our budget,” said Michelle King, ASAP executive director. “Having an attractive and substantial web presence gives our small organization a serious professional appearance. ASAP could not be more grateful to AIGA Design Assign and to our designer, for her amazing work on this project.”
Non-profit organizations interested in Design Assign should submit project requests via www.aigaiowa.org/designassign. Creative volunteers can apply for submitted projects April 11 through May 13. Teams will be matched by the end of May.

Since 2012, more than 30 Iowa non-profits have participated in Design Assign. Each year, the program welcomes both new and returning non-profit organizations and volunteers. Through the program, creative volunteers commit time and thousands of dollars in design fees to non-profit organizations in need.
