Do you want to use your creative powers to make an impact on our community? Join the fourth annual Design Assign! As part of the national AIGA Design for Good initiative, AIGA Iowa partners area creatives with non-profits of the greater Des Moines area.
You can use your talents to provide local non-profit organizations with communication materials that can help raise awareness and funds for their causes. These materials can range from logos and websites, to advertising, direct mail, posters and brochures, depending on their need and your level of commitment.
Through Design Assign, non-profit organizations aren’t the only ones to benefit. “Working with the Alzheimer's Association and Design Assign has impacted me by truly getting to experience what I want to do and how I want to be as a designer,” said Leslie Stake, 2014 Design Assign creative volunteer. “I want to use design to spread messages, educate and support organizations that exist for a good cause, as well as design for something that I am passionate about. Design Assign gave me that chance to do something for a client that I normally don't get the opportunity to have.”
If you are (or know of) a graphic designer, writer, web developer, photographer and/or printer who is interested in donating your skills, apply for a project that interests you at www.aigaiowa.org/designassign. Creative volunteer applications open April 13! Matches between creative volunteers and non-profit organizations will be completed by the end of May.
