Great leaders make great organizations. You can help determine the future of AIGA Iowa by nominating its leaders. Who do you think would be great? Who is already leading the Iowa design community in a positive direction? Could it be you? Now is the time to get those great leaders in an organization where they can have a greater impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Applicants must be an AIGA member in good standing at the Supporter level or higher, or must join the organization prior to becoming a board member.
Basic obligations include:

Individual serve a two year term, July to June.
Time Commitment: Each position requires a different amount of commitment, on average we estimate roughly 10-15 hours a month.

OPEN POSITIONS
Priority is given to those candidates whose interests and skill sets match currently available positions. During your 2-year term, you may have the option to change positions, according to your interests and the needs of the board. Here are the descriptions for the following positions up for election:

President
Directing and overseeing the chapter. Leading Board retreat and overall vision of the chapter.

Vice President
Supports the president in directing and overseeing the chapter. Ideally, the vice-president will move into the president role at the end of the president’s term.

Treasurer
Helps manage chapter finances and accounts. Budgeting for events and chapter requirements.

Strategy & Communications Director
Responsible for all online communication: social media, e-newsletters, and more. Provides strategic insight to communication and events as necessary.

Programming Director
Oversees chapter events and delegates event responsibilities; in event creation to execution.

Membership / Community Outreach Director
Contact for current and new members. Connecting with designers in the area to discover needs and perspectives.

Sponsorship Director
Identifies potential sponsors or partners for events based on budget and sponsorship needs. Solicits monetary and in-kind donations for local chapter events. Provides potential sponsors with information on AIGA and the mutual benefits of sponsoring events.

Web Director
Gathers event information and builds webpages for chapter events, AIGA-related news and member spotlights. Builds online registration via etouches for chapter events. Maintains accuracy of information on the chapter website and works with National regarding updates.

Emerging Designer Director
Reach underrepresented designers and further empower emerging designers, will address community’s needs in key areas e.g growth, leadership, entrepreneurship, and life skills
Any design professional interested in participating in the chapter but unable to commit to a board position can join the Events Committee. Membership is not required to take part in the Events Committee. Please contact membership@aigaiowa.org to get involved.
