David Baeza (President):
Why did you first join AIGA, and why do you continue to support AIGA?
I joined AIGA in Chicago while study at the University of Illinois at Chicago. At first it was to learn and become a part of the Design community, to witness what design can do for the community. I continue to support AIGA because of what it stands for and for the impact that I know it can have.
What are you aiming to achieve as a board member?
As the President of AIGA Iowa, I aim to support, encourage and create a diverse and inclusive design community that elevates the power of design, of all design disciplines, to promote and grow the community.
What type(s) of work do you do?
I am a Designer at Flynn Wright and work on print and digital media.
Tips for new and/or prospective AIGA members?
Branch out and meet the people in your community that share the same passions as you do. Everyone is supportive and encouraging, you never know who you will meet and learn from.
