Sarah Price (Web Director):
Why did you first join AIGA, and why do you continue to support AIGA?
I joined AIGA originally as a student at Grand View, because I thought it would be a good way to make connections with designers outside of my school. I continue to support AIGA because I see it as a valuable asset to our community and a great way to meet people and to continue to grow as a designer and person.
What are you aiming to achieve as a board member?
I aim to help grow the community here in Des Moines and Iowa so that we can have a supportive network to learn and grow from each other. As web director, I want to make it a good resource for designers and to help designers learn more and grow with web design and user experience.
What type(s) of work do you do?
My full time job is a web specialist at Broken Arrow Wear. I write content for our website, help improve our SEO, and I work on development, web design, and user experience. In my free time, I also write YA/NA science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction novels, design book covers, edit stories, I am also teaching myself bookbinding and I create and repair jewelry.

Tips for new and/or prospective AIGA members?
Make sure to attend events and don’t be afraid to talk to people. It’s the best way to get to know your community and to make connections. Plus our events are really fun and exciting.
